Marilyn believes in the transformative powers of acupuncture.

In 1997, she earned a Master of Acupuncture Degree from the Traditional Acupuncture Institute (now Maryland University of Integrative Health), and became nationally certified by the NCCAOM as a Diplomate of Acupuncture.  The Virginia Board of Medicine licensed Marilyn to practice acupuncture therapy in January 1998.  She spent the next 17 years helping clients in Alexandria, Virginia achieve wellness through acupuncture.

In 2014 Marilyn returned to her home state of Ohio and was licensed by the State Medical Board of Ohio to practice.  In July she opened Bright + Clear in Wooster, Ohio and works out of Coveny Chiropractic.

Marilyn is trained in Five Element Acupuncture, which likens our internal workings to the natural world around us.  She has experience in many forms and theories of acupuncture, and holds a certification in Japanese Meridian Therapy.  She is also a certified yoga and qi gong teacher.

Marilyn is fortunate to have worked with people who are committed to optimizing their physical and emotional health, and dedicated to the process of recovery from illness and injury.

"I used to say that the best thing I ever did was go to acupuncture school.  And that's still true. And then I studied painting and drawing and I said that studying art was the best thing I ever did.  That's still true.  And then I enrolled in yoga teachers' training, and that was the greatest experience also.  So all these best things I've ever done have come to make up who I am and inform my continued practice -- and study of-- Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine.

Four years ago I returned to the place of my origins, and feel nourished by the people and the landscape here.  I miss so much about the other places and people in my life, but those experiences are with me here at home."
